About Blind River Curling Club
Blind River Curling Club: Over 65 Years of Community Passion
Established in 1957, the Blind River Curling Club (BRCC) in the Algoma District of Ontario is a highly active, non-profit sports center. The historic facility features a beautiful 4-sheet ice surface where players can still see a piece of the original local mill’s wooden wall integrated into the structure, connecting the club to the town’s industrial heritage.
With a stable membership of around 170 curlers, BRCC runs leagues for all ages, including an active ‘Little Rockers’ youth league. The club is famous for its unique social events, most notably the ‘Iron Broom’—a popular two-day event combining golf and curling, followed by a dinner and dance. Beginners are also welcomed each season with free ‘Learn to Curl’ clinics.
