About Fort Rouge Curling Club
Fort Rouge Curling Club: ‘The Home of Friendly Curling’ Since 1919
First established in December 1919 near Osborne and Kylemore, the Fort Rouge Curling Club is a historic winter sports icon in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After municipal transit expansion led to the sale of their original site, the club opened its current modern six-sheet facility at 750 Daly Street South in December 1959. The clubhouse has been proudly recognized as a historical site by the Manitoba Historical Society.
The club boasts an elite competitive pedigree, having served as the home club for Brier winners Billy Walsh and Orest Meleschuk, as well as Connie Laliberte’s three-time national and 1984 world women’s championship teams. Beyond world-class ice, the club is famous in the curling community for its delicious on-site pizzas, known to be ‘The Best in Town’.
