Border Curling Club: An International Legacy on Ice

Nestled on Rue Principale in Stanstead, Quebec, just a few hundred meters from the United States border, the Border Curling Club (often called the Stanstead Border Curling Club) is one of the most unique athletic clubs in North America. Founded in 1955, the club operates as a functionally bilingual and expressly international center, with membership and governance proudly shared between Canadian and American players.

The facility features two meticulously prepared sheets of ice flanked by international flags, complete with first- and second-floor viewing areas. Boasting certified instructors, the club offers weekly leagues, open pick-up games on Friday evenings, and specialized courses in traditional and ‘stick play’. Their beautiful reception lounge holds up to 130 people, serving as a lively hub for cross-border community friendships.
