Chedabucto Curling Club: A Beacon of Community Activity

Dating back to 1963 when passionate local volunteers built a single-sheet natural ice rink under a plastic-covered frame, the Chedabucto Curling Club (CCC) in Boylston, Nova Scotia, is a true grassroots success story. Today, operating as the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society (CAS) at 6 Reddy’s Hill Road, this 100% volunteer-run facility is the heartbeat of Guysborough County.

In recognition of its incredible ice quality, renovated clubhouse, and inclusive programs—including their expanded ‘Little Rockers’ youth league—the club was named Nova Scotia Curling Association’s (NSCA) Organization of the Year in both 2015 and 2019. Beyond winter curling, the club hosts vibrant summer fundraisers, most notably their famous annual ‘Ducky Race’ and outdoor beer garden during Come Home Week.
