About Circle City Curling Club
Circle City Curling Club: Central Indiana’s Dedicated Curling Home
Circle City Curling Club was founded in 2007 as a nonprofit dedicated to promoting and teaching curling in central Indiana. For 15 years the club rented hockey rinks around greater Indianapolis while raising money for ice of its own, and the effort paid off in December 2022, when it opened a dedicated three-sheet curling facility on West 53rd Street in Anderson, northeast of Indianapolis.
The building came together in about ten months after the club took possession of the space that February, and the difference was immediate. As project manager Ernie Forney put it, curling on hockey ice is like putting in your backyard: you can do it, but it is not a lot of fun.
The new rink quickly put Circle City on the national map. In February 2024 the club hosted the USA Curling Senior Women’s National Championship, bringing the country’s top women curlers aged 50 and over to Anderson to compete for a place at the World Championships. The club is a member of the Great Lakes Curling Association.
