Crowning Canada’s best club teams

The 2026 Canadian Curling Club Championships is the 17th edition of Curling Canada’s national championship for club curlers, with separate women’s and men’s titles on the line. The championship is played in late November 2026 at the St. Thomas Curling Club in St. Thomas, Ontario, wrapping up on November 28.

Format and field

Each of Curling Canada’s 14 member associations sends its women’s and men’s club champions, with teams earning their places through provincial and territorial club playdowns. The 2026 representatives had not all been confirmed at the time of writing.

The reigning champions were crowned at Winnipeg’s Granite Curling Club in November 2025. Ontario’s Lindsay Thorne, from the Rideau Curling Club in Ottawa, beat Quebec’s Miriam Perron 7–6 in the women’s final, while British Columbia’s Mitch Young of Cranbrook rallied from 4–2 down after four ends to beat Mark Noseworthy of Newfoundland and Labrador 8–4 for the men’s title. The 2025 event used a double-knockout format, and besides the titles, MVP and positional sportsmanship awards were handed out.

St. Thomas Curling Club

St. Thomas is hosting the Club Championships for the first time. The club has six sheets of ice, a lounge, bar and kitchen, and a membership of more than 350 curlers. It has national-championship history too: it staged the 2002 Canadian Senior Women’s and Men’s Championships, won by Ontario’s Anne Dunn and Bob Fedosa, and the 1978 Canadian Senior Men’s Championship, won by Saskatchewan’s Art Knutson.

Curling Canada chief executive Nolan Thiessen described the club’s bid as outstanding, and St. Thomas mayor Joe Preston highlighted the role the club plays in the community and the chance to show off local hospitality. Visitors to the “Railway City” can plan accommodation and activities through Railway City Tourism.
