The Manitoba Credit Unions Master Women’s Provincial Championship is the province’s top competition for senior-age women curlers. It runs alongside the men’s Masters event as one combined provincial championship, from February 10 to 15, 2027, and CurlManitoba is the organiser. The stakes are the provincial title and the right to represent Manitoba at the 2027 Canadian Masters Championship. That national event is for provincial and territorial teams of curlers aged 60 and over. Ontario’s Mary Chilvers rink took the national women’s crown in 2026 in Grande Prairie. Prize money has not been published. Manitoba’s champions are decided on the ice, with no Olympic or world-championship qualification attached.
The women’s field is an open-entry event, so any eligible team can apply for a place rather than earning a berth through qualifiers. Entries close at 4:30 pm on Thursday, January 21, 2027. The number of women’s teams and the draw format for 2027 will be confirmed after entries close. The men’s Masters side is listed with sixteen teams. In 2026 the combined event was played in Brandon from February 24 to March 1, ahead of the national championship in Grande Prairie in April. The defending Manitoba women’s champion and the 2027 team list have not been announced yet.
The championship returns to Winnipeg and the Heather Curling Club at 120 Youville Street in St. Boniface. The Heather first opened on Christmas Day 1915 as the St. Boniface Curling Club. The current eight-sheet building has stood since December 1965 and is one of Manitoba’s main Francophone curling clubs. Renovations in the 1990s turned it into a multi-purpose venue that can host summer events. The Heather also houses a regional high-performance curling centre. Two of its eight sheets carry video analysis, speed traps, smart brooms and championship-calibre stones. No seating capacity has been published for the club.
Winnipeg knows senior national curling. It staged the Canadian Masters at the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club in 2011 and at Pembina in 2022. Visitors will find the club in the French-speaking St. Boniface district, just east of the Red River from downtown. A February visit means proper winter conditions, so pack for them.
No ticketing arrangements have been announced for this championship. Provincial Masters events are normally played at club venues, and no ticket packages or prices have been released. Any admission details will be announced closer to the event.
