Season two opens in Moose Jaw

Rock League opens its first full season at Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on January 7–10, 2027. It is the first of four regular-season stops for the professional franchise league, which was launched in April 2025 by The Curling Group, whose founders include curling champions Jennifer Jones and John Morris and former NFL players Jared Allen and Marc Bulger.

The league’s inaugural event was played in Toronto on April 6–12, 2026, where Shield Curling Club, captained by Brad Jacobs, took the championship. Benoît Schwarz-van Berkel was named MVP and Alina Pätz received the Ultimate Competitor award.

Format and franchises

Six mixed-gender franchises compete, each with a ten-player roster of five men and five women drawn from different nations. In the first season they played men’s, women’s, mixed team and mixed doubles games. The franchises and their inaugural-season captains were Maple United (Rachel Homan), Shield Curling Club (Brad Jacobs), Alpine Curling Club (Alina Pätz), Northern United (Bruce Mouat), Frontier Curling Club (Korey Dropkin) and Typhoon Curling Club (Chinami Yoshida).

After Moose Jaw, the season moves to Utica, New York (January 28–31), Ottawa (February 4–7) and Red Deer, Alberta (April 8–11), which replaced a previously planned Halifax stop. The playoffs are set for Kalamazoo, Michigan, on April 15–18.

Temple Gardens Centre

Temple Gardens Centre, with a capacity of about 4,400, gives the league an arena setting in one of Canada’s best-known curling towns. The Curling Group’s chief executive Nic Sulsky described Moose Jaw as one of the most energetic and curling-savvy cities in the country, while venue general manager Shaunna Fritzler pointed to the city’s passionate curling community and called landing an event of this calibre something special. The stop is also expected to deliver a solid economic boost from visiting fans.
