The World Senior Curling Championships bring together men and women aged 50 and over for a combined men’s and women’s world title event run by World Curling. The 2027 edition is scheduled for 24 April – 1 May 2027, closing out the international season. The championship has grown enormously since it was launched in 2002 with just seven men’s and four women’s teams: the 2026 edition drew a record 57 teams across nine days of competition. Games are played over eight ends rather than the usual ten.
Entry runs through national member associations, most of which pick their representatives at domestic senior championships held during the winter. Mike Farbelow’s American rink, for example, reached Geneva by winning the 2026 US senior national title before going on to take world gold. Canada’s teams for 2027 will come from the Canadian Senior Curling Championships at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon (6–13 December 2026), while the United States settles its berths at the USA Curling Senior National Championships at Curl Mesabi in Eveleth, Minnesota (7–14 February 2027). The final list of nations and skips will be confirmed once those national events have been played.
The titles being defended were won in Geneva in 2026:
