The LGT World Women’s Curling Championship 2027 is scheduled for March 13–21, 2027 and crowns the best women’s team on the planet. It is also a landmark edition: this is the first women’s worlds played under World Curling’s new competition structure, which expands the field from 13 to 18 nations. Beyond the medals, final placings carry real weight for the following season, because only the top 14 nations keep their place at the top level, while the bottom four drop to the new World Curling Championships B-Division.
The 18 teams are split into two pools of nine. Each pool winner goes straight through to the semi-finals, while the second- and third-placed teams in each pool meet in crossover qualification games for the two remaining semi-final places. The field combines nations that kept their place through the 2026 world championship with the teams promoted from the World Championship Qualifier (Women), staged in Östersund, Sweden, from November 21 to 26, 2026.
Switzerland arrive as defending champions. At the 2026 championship in Calgary, Xenia Schwaller, Selina Gafner, Fabienne Rieder and Selina Rychiger beat Canada’s Kerri Einarson 7-5 in the final to claim gold. The individual national teams for 2027 will be confirmed by each member association over the course of the season.
