Hudson Bay Curling Club: Fostering Community and the Next Generation

Located on Wardle Drive in the east-central town of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, the Hudson Bay Curling Club represents the very best of small-town prairie sportsmanship. In June 2025, the club was proudly awarded CURLSASK’s prestigious ‘Club of the Year’ for its outstanding community outreach, welcoming environment, and dedication to grassroots growth.

Faced with declining adult memberships, the club launched a highly successful Youth Learn to Curl program, expanding local participation under the age of 16 from just 20 to over 60 active players in a single year. Operating four sheets of artificial ice, the club runs popular evening mixed leagues, afternoon senior draws, and family-friendly weekend bonspiels, complete with post-game pizza parties.
