About Avonair Curling Club

Avonair Curling Club: A Historic Chapter in Edmonton’s Curling Legacy

Though its physical facility on Princess Elizabeth Avenue NW permanently closed its doors in January 2024, the Avonair Curling Club remains a legendary chapter in Edmonton’s rich curling heritage. For over 60 years, this prominent 8-sheet curling center was a premier destination for local, provincial, and national competitions.

With a spacious lounge and lobby capable of hosting up to 200 guests, Avonair was renowned for its exceptional ice quality and highly supportive, wheelchair-accessible programs. While the club’s active leagues have transitioned to other venues across the capital region, its deep community impact and championship history will not be forgotten.
