Club de curling de Cap-de-la-Madeleine: A Blueprint for Quebec Curling

Operating in the sector of Cap-de-la-Madeleine in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, the Club de curling de Cap-de-la-Madeleine is an iconic fixture of the Mauricie sports scene. The club’s current chalet was officially inaugurated with a massive community celebration in late 1961, following a major local construction and expansion effort.

In the mid-1950s, the club’s smart building design was so highly regarded that the founders of the St. Lambert Curling Club chose it as the exact blueprint for their own facility, mimicking its three-sheet layout and two-story clubhouse. Renowned for its exceptional ice quality and competitive pedigree, the club has hosted numerous provincial playdowns and produced elite Quebec championship teams, including Pierre Charette’s multi-time provincial winners.
