About Elmwood Curling Club
Elmwood Curling Club: Over a Century of East Kildonan Heritage
Established in early 1911 by founders who raised capital by selling $25 shares out of a horse and buggy, the Elmwood Curling Club is Winnipeg’s third oldest curling club. Located at the corner of Harbison Avenue and Brazier Street, the club transitioned to its present modern five-sheet steel-and-cinderblock rink in 1965.
The club is globally recognized for its stunning 2,100-square-foot exterior mural commissioned in 1997, depicting the historic transition of curling from rivers to indoor sheets. Having produced multiple Canadian Senior Men’s Champions, Elmwood is a non-profit community facility offering active evening mixed leagues, junior programs, and an exceptionally comfortable bar and viewing lounge.
