About Grand Marais Curling Club
Grand Marais Curling Club: Fostering Interlake Spirit Since 1957
Located on Matilda Avenue in the beautiful lakeside community of Grand Marais, Manitoba, the Grand Marais Curling Club is a proud symbol of volunteerism and grassroots sports. Established in 1957, the club was built with the help of the local RM of St. Clements, which donated the land, and volunteers who physically moved a historic rink building in three pieces from Beausejour to secure its future.
Today, the club operates a three-sheet curling rink, offering popular weekly leagues including Monday Open Mixed and Wednesday and Thursday night Men’s draws. The club is famous for hosting its annual Sand Bar ‘Freeze-Out’ Modified Mixed Bonspiel and the GM Icebreaker tournament, drawing players from across the eastern shore. The facility remains a warm, highly welcoming venue to stay active during the long Manitoba winters.
