About Broadmoor Curling Club

Broadmoor Curling Club: Colorado Springs Curling Since 1968

Broadmoor Curling Club has carried curling in Colorado Springs since 1968. The club takes its name from the Broadmoor Ice Palace, the rink beside the lake at the famous Broadmoor resort, where members curled from the late 1960s until the mid-1990s. After years of scrambling for ice, including a period of renting a couple of hours a week at the Colorado Sports Center in Monument, the club now curls at the Broadmoor World Arena Ice Hall on Venetucci Boulevard, on arena ice shared with skaters and hockey players.

The club is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose stated mission is to teach, develop and promote the spirit of curling, with youth and adult programs that lead to local, national and international competition. Each season it aims to run at least two leagues, alongside open play sessions and regular Learn to Curl clinics. Clinics cover the game’s history, safety, warm-ups and certified instruction before finishing with a short game, with all equipment provided. Over the years the club has introduced the sport to teenagers, disabled veterans and competitive curlers alike, and its leadership has made growing the membership the key to adding more curling events.
