Derby City Curling Club: Louisville’s Answer to the Roaring Game
Derby City Curling Club brings curling to Louisville, the Kentucky city best known for the first Saturday in May. Founded in 2018, the club takes its name from the city’s Kentucky Derby nickname and gives the region a home for a sport more often associated with northern winters.
Derby City is an arena club, curling on hockey ice with four sheets laid out for play rather than in a dedicated building. It is a member of USA Curling through the Great Lakes Curling Association, which links it with clubs in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, among them the nearby Cincinnati and Circle City clubs, and opens the door to bonspiels and regional competition across the Midwest.
