Ludington Area Curling Club: Sunday Stones on the Lake Michigan Shore

Ludington Area Curling Club brings curling to Mason County on Michigan’s Lake Michigan shoreline. The club plays on arena ice at the West Shore Community Ice Arena, on the West Shore Community College campus in Victory Township near Scottville and Ludington, and was established to offer and promote the sport across the greater northern Michigan area.

Members meet weekly on Sundays during the season, and the club regularly hosts Learn to Curl clinics that give newcomers personal instruction in throwing stones, sweeping, game strategy and the rules. Two delivery styles are taught – the traditional low slide from the hack and stick delivery – so curlers of all mobility levels can play. The club’s board has made growing participation its main goal, using affordable clinics to bring new players onto the ice each winter.
