Crossfield Curling Club: Bringing Local Ice Back to Life

With an active history tracing back to 1929 and operating out of its current Osler Avenue facility since 1950, the Crossfield Curling Club is a treasured piece of local heritage. Following a difficult period where an ammonia leak in the chiller system forced a complete shutdown of the ice sheets, a newly elected board of passionate local volunteers took over in late 2023 with a mission to revive the rink.

The club’s primary goal is to secure funding, repair the historic equipment, and reopen the ice sheets to the public. Known for its strong community support, the club historically offered friendly recreational leagues and festive bonspiels. Crossfield Curling Club represents the very best of grassroots resilience, proving that a shared love for the sport can bring a community together to rebuild its beloved winter home.
