Hinton Curling Club: Overcoming Adversity on the Ice

Located at 837 Switzer Drive in Hinton, Alberta, the Hinton Curling Club is a proud non-profit organization operating a four-sheet curling rink. The club serves as a vital winter fitness and social anchor for local families, keeping the small Rocky Mountain foothills community active, healthy, and closely connected.

In late 2023, shortly after getting its junior programs up and running, the club faced a catastrophic chiller tube failure. The community and Curling Alberta immediately rallied behind the club, raising over $100,000 for a professional, ABSA-approved rebuild that allowed curlers to return to the ice in early 2024. Today, Hinton Curling Club is thriving, offering competitive evening flights, youth instructions, and friendly winter bonspiels.
