Gillam Curling Club: Small-Town Passion in the Far North

Located inside the Gillam Recreation Centre in northern Manitoba, the Gillam Curling Club is a vital sport and social hub. As a major center of Manitoba Hydro industrial activity, the town of Gillam relies on the club to keep residents active, healthy, and closely connected during the long sub-arctic winters.

Operating under the leadership of club president Dwayne Forman, the club runs popular leagues, including an active Tuesday night Men’s League and youth sports programs. To welcome first-timers and boost local membership, the club holds high-spirited ‘Learn to Curl’ clinics in mid-October. It remains a warm, highly welcoming venue for traditional northern Canadian sportsmanship.
