The World Mixed Curling Championship crowns the best four-player mixed team in the world, with every line-up made up of two women and two men. It is an open-entry championship for World Curling member associations and has been part of the international calendar since 2015, when it replaced the European Mixed Curling Championship. Canada is the most successful nation in the event’s short history, with three gold medals through 2024, ahead of Sweden with two, and eleven different nations have reached the podium.
This edition carries the 2026–27 label because it was originally planned for the autumn slot in October 2026. It was postponed and will now be played from 3 to 10 April 2027, which means two World Mixed Championships are scheduled in calendar year 2027, the second of them in October. For an event normally played in the autumn, it is a rare spring staging.
Nations enter through their national federations, and many select their representatives at national mixed championships. In Canada, the national mixed title decides who wears the Maple Leaf at the worlds: New Brunswick’s Rene Comeau, Jennifer Fenwick, Alex Robichaud and Katie Vandenborre won the 2025 Canadian Mixed in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Which Canadian champion team plays in Penticton, and the full list of entries, will be confirmed by World Curling closer to the event.
The championship is played at the Penticton Curling Club in British Columbia, giving Canada home ice for a world mixed title. Penticton sits in the Okanagan Valley between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake, a region known for its wineries and outdoor recreation.
Ticketing and spectator information for the April championship have not yet been announced. Details on passes and entry will be released by the organisers ahead of the event.
