The World Championship Qualifier Women 2026 is the tournament that hands out places in the LGT World Women’s Curling Championship 2027. It is played from 21 to 26 November 2026 and is the first edition under World Curling’s new competition structure for the 2026–2030 Olympic cycle, in which the former B-Division championships were renamed World Championship Qualifier events. For the nations taking part, the week in Sweden decides whether they compete among the elite in March or wait another year.
The field is built from two pathways: teams placed through last season’s B-Division events, and teams promoted from the new World Championship Pre-Qualifier events. On the women’s side, the European Pre-Qualifier in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in May 2026 sent through France, the gold medallists, and Poland, who beat Slovakia in the final qualification game. There was no women’s competition at the Pan Continental Pre-Qualifier in Dumfries because too few teams entered, so Europe supplies both promoted sides. The full list of nations, the number of spots on offer for the World Women’s Championship and the playing schedule will be confirmed by World Curling ahead of the event.
Games take place at the Östersund Curling Club. The city is a familiar partner for World Curling and most recently staged the European Curling Championships C-Division in 2025. Local organising committee president Per Bergman has said the club is proud to work with World Curling once again. Östersund sits on the shores of Lake Storsjön in central Sweden and is one of the country’s winter sports hubs, with its own airport and rail links to Stockholm.
Spectator and ticket information has not yet been announced; it will come from the local organisers in Östersund closer to the November start.
