About Gravenhurst Curling Club
Gravenhurst Curling Club: 125 Years of Community, Sport, and Belonging
Established in 1901 as a modest three-sheet rink on the site of James Scott’s skating rink, the Gravenhurst Curling Club is celebrating an incredible 125-year milestone of winter sports. Located at 330 John Street North in the Gateway to Muskoka, the current six-sheet facility was constructed in 1958 and continues to be a vital cornerstone of local athletic recreation and socialization.
Today, the club serves over 250 active members, running popular winter curling leagues, Muskoka Special Olympics leagues on Thursdays, euchre card nights, and even two indoor golf simulator leagues. To secure its future and replace aging ice plant infrastructure, the club has launched a bold $500,000 fundraising campaign by 2029 in partnership with the National Sport Trust Fund. In the summer, the dry ice floor converts into five indoor pickleball courts, making it a year-round municipal asset.
