Bala Curling Club: Over a Century of Muskoka Curling History

With a rich history dating back to 1910 when founding members played on the natural ice of Lake Muskoka, the Bala Curling Club was formally established in 1913. Located on Grey Street in Bala, Ontario, the club evolved from a historic uninsulated hemlock shed into a modern four-sheet facility with a steel ice shed built in 2004.

Today, the club boasts a fully licensed clubhouse, complete with volunteer bartenders and active weekly leagues. Famously supported by decades of local fundraising, the club offers a friendly, warm environment for both competitive and social players. In the off-season, they keep the community active with popular social gatherings and the annual Golf Classic fundraiser.
