Coldwater & District Curling Club: Where History and Champions Meet
Established as a volunteer group in 1984 after figure skating and minor hockey displaced curlers from the local arena, the Coldwater & District Curling Club officially opened its current dedicated, public four-sheet facility at 9 Michael Anne Drive in November 2000. It stands proud as a premier athletic landmark in Simcoe County, Ontario, famous for its incredible local support and community spirit.
The club has served as the official home training base for Canadian curling legends Glenn Howard and Sherry Middaugh, whose provincial and world championship banners proudly adorn the arena walls. Coldwater made global headlines in October 2014 when a group of 10 members successfully set a Guinness World Record for the longest marathon curling game, playing for 79 hours, 15 minutes, and 3 seconds to raise thousands for local charities. Today, the club offers active junior leagues, tag draws, and introductory clinics.
