About Kayuta Lake Curling Club
Kayuta Lake Curling Club: Natural-Ice Curling in the Adirondack Foothills
Kayuta Lake Curling Club plays the game the old way: outdoors, on natural ice. Founded in 2001, the club takes its name from Kayuta Lake, a reservoir on the Black River in the town of Forestport, Oneida County, on the southwestern edge of the Adirondacks north of Utica, a region of long, snowy winters and lakeside camps.
The highlight of the club’s year is its annual Winterfest bonspiel, held every February on outdoor natural ice. Kayuta Lake is a member of the Grand National Curling Club, the regional association for clubs in New York and the Northeast, and it sits within driving distance of the Utica Curling Club in Whitestown, one of the oldest curling clubs in the country.
