About Last Chance Curling Club
Last Chance Curling Club: Helena’s Fast-Growing Home for Curling
Last Chance Curling Club began with five Helena friends who loved curling so much they drove to Butte for league play. After planning through 2020, they launched the club, and its first season started in January 2021. The club curls on arena ice at Steed Arena in Montana’s capital.
The club now runs several leagues a season, including night leagues for experienced curlers, evening leagues for first-timers and a daytime league on weekday afternoons popular with older players. Learn to Curl sessions and open curls bring newcomers onto the ice, and the club’s Halloween-themed Creepy Sweepy Bone-Spiel offers a three-game guarantee with a Friday dinner and Saturday banquet.
Helena curlers have quickly made a mark: in 2025 Amanda Opitz and Abbie Ebert came through the Dakota Territory regional qualifier in Billings to reach the USA Curling Arena Club National Championship in Las Vegas.
