About Plymouth Rocks Curling Club
Plymouth Rocks Curling Club: Three Seasons of Curling in the Lakes Region
Plymouth Rocks Curling Club is the curling program of the Plymouth State University Ice Arena, which sits on Route 175A just across the Pemigewasset River from Plymouth in Holderness, at the gateway between New Hampshire’s Lakes Region and the White Mountains. The club curls on the arena’s ice and is open to students and the wider community alike.
Unlike many rink-based clubs that pack everything into the winter, Plymouth Rocks runs three seasons of curling a year: a fall season in September and November, a spring season in March and April, and a summer season in July and August. Every March the club throws open the doors with two free Learn to Curl open houses, usually held on the first two Sunday afternoons of the month.
Two bonspiels anchor the calendar. The MUDSpiel arrives in April, as the North Country thaws into mud season, and the CiderSpiel follows in September with the first hint of autumn. The arena also hosts private curling parties for groups looking for a night on the ice.
