Claresholm Curling Club: Southern Alberta’s Historic Ice
With a rich athletic history dating back to its first matches in 1910, the Claresholm Curling Club is one of the most historically significant rinks in southern Alberta. Located at 430 53 Avenue East, the club features four sheets of expertly maintained curling ice and a warm, inviting viewing lobby.
The club is highly celebrated as the development home of Canadian Curling Hall of Fame inductee Bernie Sparkes, who went on to win three Briers and three World Championships. Today, operated by dedicated local volunteers, Claresholm Curling Club offers a family-friendly space with active winter leagues for men, women, mixed teams, and youth.
