Goose Bay Curling Club: Stepping Back into Labrador’s Heartwarming History

Operating a dedicated facility at 126 Edmonton Street in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Goose Bay Curling Club has been bringing the sub-arctic community together for over 50 years. The rink features a cozy, nostalgic 1970s-style lounge with retro orange and red hand-painted walls, showing off the proud, grassroots history of Labrador West.

The club hosts three competitive leagues: Men’s on Mondays, Ladies’ on Tuesdays, and Mixed on Thursdays, alongside monthly funspiels. Backed by generous support from the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, the club is famous for hosting its massive annual ‘Big Land Bonspiel’ every February, welcoming out-of-town teams for a weekend of central Newfoundland hospitality.
