CFB Halifax Curling Club: Where Military Legacy Meets Modern Culture
Officially opened on January 15, 1971, on Hawk Terrace in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the CFB Halifax Curling Club was formed through the amalgamation of four historic local military clubs (Stadacona, Windsor Park, Dockyard, and Gorsebrook). While operated as part of the military’s Personnel Support Programs (PSP), this world-class six-sheet center proudly opens its leagues, clinics, and lounge to the general public.
The club is highly celebrated as the proud home of the Canadian Armed Forces Atlantic Regional Curling Champions. Beyond offering exceptional ice, the facility features an air-conditioned lounge, licensed bars, and a modern kitchen. In the off-season, the dry ice shed serves as a major film and TV sound stage, hosting the production of famous series like CBC’s ‘Mr. D’ and ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ for several years.
