About Buckingham Curling Club
Buckingham Curling Club: Elite Heritage on Gatineau Ice
Originally established in some form as early as 1857, the Buckingham Curling Club (French: Club de curling de Buckingham) settled into its permanent, modern home at 626 Avenue de Buckingham in 1918. It stands proud as the only dedicated curling club operating within the city limits of Gatineau, Quebec.
Despite running a compact two-sheet ice surface, the club boasts a legendary competitive pedigree, having produced numerous provincial Brier and Tournament of Hearts representatives. Buckingham maintains one of the oldest sporting rivalries in North America with the Ottawa Curling Club, playing annually for the historic Currier Cup (donated in the 1860s). Today, it offers a robust junior program and active day and evening leagues.
