About Eastend Curling Club
Eastend Curling Club: Grassroots Passion and Pioneer Grit
Curling came to the scenic town of Eastend, Saskatchewan, in the winter of 1919, when passionate early settlers constructed a crude single-sheet rink next to a local barn. To raise funds, the Eastend Rink Company sold $25 shares in 1923, building a regulation rink. In 1982, the historic natural ice sheets were replaced with the current modern building on 332 Front Street.
Today, the Eastend Curling Club operates inside the active Eastend Rink Complex, sharing facilities with local minor hockey and skating programs. Operating under the South West region of CURLSASK, the club runs popular local leagues and festive bonspiels. Situated in the valley that houses ‘Scotty’—the world’s largest Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton—the club offers unmatched small-town prairie hospitality.
