About Kerrobert Curling Club
Kerrobert Curling Club: Over 75 Years of Volunteer Resilience
Following a devastating fire in late 1946 that destroyed the town’s original 1930s arena, the dedicated community of Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, rallied to construct a new sports facility by purchasing and converting a historic WWII airplane hangar. The club introduced four sheets of artificial ice in 1961, cementing itself as a West Central region sports landmark.
Kerrobert is globally famous in the curling community as the home club of legendary Brier finalist Brad Heidt. Under the guidance of recreation director Marli Shepherd, the club has embraced modern innovations like Glow Curling nights featuring black lights and UV decorations to draw new players. With a newly renovated kitchen, change rooms, and active leagues, the club continues to create great sports stories.
