About Northwestern University Curling Club
Northwestern University Curling Club: Graduate Students on the Ice
Northwestern University Curling Club, known as NU Curling, is a graduate-student club that brings curling to the Evanston campus community. Founded in 2005, the club does not have ice of its own; instead its members carpool a short distance north to the Chicago Curling Club on Dundee Road in Northbrook, one of the historic dedicated curling clubs of the Chicago area.
The club’s motto sums up its program: learn, play, compete, connect. The season runs from fall through spring, with lessons and games for every skill level, trips to regional and national tournaments, and social events for graduate students. Its flagship event is the Northwestern Bonspiel, held each spring; the April 2025 edition featured three games, a dinner and awards, with free entry for Northwestern graduate students and alumni welcome to join.
