About Crosby Curling Club
Crosby Curling Club: Six Decades of Curling in Northwest North Dakota
The Crosby Curling Club keeps curling alive in Crosby, the Divide County seat in the far northwest corner of North Dakota, just south of the Canadian border. Curling has been part of winter here for more than six decades, and the club is listed among the community tenants of the Crosby Community Center and Andrist Arena complex.
The club curls on dedicated ice with three sheets, and it is run by local volunteers; board member Josh Bummer, a farmer, is among the people who keep the rocks moving. In 2023, the year North Dakota made curling its official state sport, the club was featured in Prairie Public’s “Throwing Rocks: The Curling Clubs of North Dakota” series, part of an effort to visit every curling club in the state.
