About Williston Basin Curling Club
Williston Basin Curling Club: Curling at the Williston Fairgrounds
Williston Basin Curling Club takes its name from the oil-rich Williston Basin of northwestern North Dakota, the state that made curling its official sport in 2023. The club has been curling in Williston since 1980 and plays at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds, in Multi Purpose Building B on 18th Street East.
The club curls on four sheets of dedicated curling ice. Like many North Dakota clubs, it has been refreshed by its own members in recent years, remodeling both its upstairs and downstairs viewing areas.
Youth curling is a growing part of the club’s season. Working with the Williston Parks and Recreation District, the club runs youth curling and learn-to-curl sessions for students in grades 4 through 12 on Monday and Thursday evenings in January, supplying all the equipment so that newcomers need only a clean pair of closed-toe shoes. The club is a member of USA Curling and the Dakota Territory Curling Association.
