About Watertown Curling Club
Watertown Curling Club: Curling at Watertown’s Prairie Lakes Ice Arena
Watertown Curling Club is the curling home of Watertown, the lakes-country city in northeastern South Dakota. Dating to 2010, the club is an arena club in USA Curling’s Dakota Territory region, one of a small group of clubs that have carried the sport across the eastern half of the state alongside Sioux Falls, Aberdeen and Brookings.
The club curls at the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena on 1st Avenue NE, a $36.5 million, two-rink facility that opened in February 2024 and also serves public skating, hockey and figure skating. Curling was part of the conversation from the start: at the arena’s opening, local officials pointed to the growth of curling in the new building and even floated the idea of a future curling-focused rink.
