About Highwood Curling Club

Highwood Curling Club: High River’s Premier Winter Social Hub

Operating a dedicated curling rink at 228 12th Avenue SE in High River, Alberta, the Highwood Curling Club is a vital athletic and social centerpiece. Under the enthusiastic leadership of president Kate Renz, the club serves as a central pillar of the local community, promoting winter physical fitness under the motto ‘Where our Community Connects’.

The facility features high-quality ice sheets and underwent a major renovation of its upstairs ‘Ice House Lounge’ in late 2025, offering premium viewing comfort. Highwood is famous as the proud host of the annual Great Scot Tournament—a highly popular, multi-day event combining competitive curling, cribbage matches, a golf scramble, and live musical entertainment followed by a Sunday banquet.
