About Blackhawk Curling Club
Blackhawk Curling Club: Janesville’s Dedicated Curling Home Since 1965
Blackhawk Curling Club has been curling in Janesville, the Rock County seat in southern Wisconsin, since 1965. The club plays in its own dedicated building with three sheets of ice and belongs to the Wisconsin State Curling Association, USA Curling and the U.S. Women’s Curling Association.
Blackhawk curlers are a regular presence on the southern Wisconsin circuit. Teams from the club have competed in the Wisconsin Region Mixed Playdowns and in bonspiels at neighboring clubs such as Alpine in Monroe, where a Blackhawk team took an event title in 2024. Monroe native Ryan Spielman, who curls out of Blackhawk, was part of the team that won the 2020 Wisconsin state mixed championship with a 5–0 record.
The club’s dedicated ice keeps league play and competitive curling going through the winter in the Janesville area.
