Cincinnati Curling Club: From Borrowed Rinks to a Warehouse of Ice

Cincinnati Curling Club began when four residents, inspired by the surge of interest in curling during the 2010 Winter Olympics, set out to bring the sport to the Queen City. For years the club moved from rink to rink, curling at the Indian Hill Winter Club, Cincinnati Gardens, Sports Plus, Fountain Square, Summit Park and Miami University’s Goggin Ice Center in Oxford.

In 2019 the club opened its own home in a converted warehouse on Duff Drive in West Chester Township, a nearly 12,000-square-foot building that became the first dedicated curling-only facility in the tri-state area. Dedicated ice let the club scrape and level the surface properly instead of working around hockey schedules, and membership has grown about 10 percent a year since. In November 2025 the club completed a 5,800-square-foot expansion.

The club offers adult, youth and instructional leagues, Learn to Curl classes, corporate outings and clinics with world champion athletes. Its bonspiels include the CincySpiel and the Cincinnati Mixed Doubles Cup, and more than 1,000 people have tried the sport through its programs.
