About Roseau Curling Club
Roseau Curling Club – curling arrives in a Minnesota hockey town
Roseau Curling Club is one of the newest curling clubs in Minnesota. It is based in Roseau, a small city in the far north of the state, a few miles south of the Manitoba border and long known for its hockey tradition. The club was formed in 2026 by local residents, who presented their plans for the sport to the Roseau city council.
In early May 2026 the club ran a four-day introduction to curling at the North Rink, using the last week of the season’s ice by arrangement with Roseau Youth Hockey. The program mixed learn-to-curl sessions, school physical-education visits, mini-games and open ice, and was funded through event fees and local business sponsors, with the city waiving the facility fees to help the launch. The goal was to measure local interest in a permanent curling program.
In the autumn the club followed up with its Rocktober Open Spiel, an open bonspiel listed by CurlManitoba – a sign of how closely curling in Roseau is tied to the clubs just across the border.
