About Richfield Curling Club
Richfield Curling Club: Olympic-Inspired Curling at Richfield Ice Arena
Richfield Curling Club was born in the glow of the 2018 Winter Olympics, when a U.S. men’s team with four Minnesotans won gold. Richfield resident Lisa DeMore Rudolph launched the club, first known as Richfield Rocks, with a grand opening on June 8, 2018, making it the sixth curling club in the Twin Cities. USA Curling lent 48 stones along with brooms, sliders, grippers and hacks, and former Olympic curler Jess Schultz helped teach the first lessons.
The club plays on arena ice at Richfield Ice Arena on East 66th Street, a city-owned rink that opened in 1971 and is home to Richfield and Academy of Holy Angels high school hockey. Four sheets fit on the ice, with room for up to 32 curlers at a time.
Programs cover lessons for beginners, leagues and kids’ camps, with all equipment provided, making it one of the easiest places in the south metro to try the sport.
