About Inland Northwest Curling Club
Inland Northwest Curling Club: Coeur d’Alene and Spokane on One Sheet
The Inland Northwest Curling Club is the curling home for both sides of the Idaho–Washington line, bringing together players from Coeur d’Alene and Spokane. It was born from a merger of two clubs: the Coeur d’Alene Curling Club, established in 2013, and Spokane’s Lilac City Curling Club. The Coeur d’Alene roots go back further still, to do-it-yourself efforts that began in 2008 among a group of local educators, including Randy Bowd, who became the merged club’s first president.
The club plays on arena ice at Frontier Ice Arena on Seltice Way in Coeur d’Alene. Its calendar is built around an eight-week fall league and an eight-week spring league, each typically drawing 12 to 16 teams, with beginner learn-to-curl sessions offered through the year for players aged 14 and up. The Coeur d’Alene curlers have also staged an annual spring bonspiel, an event lively enough that participants have camped in the arena parking lot.
The club’s volunteers carried their experience onto the national stage when they helped organize and officiate the 2020 USA Curling National Championships, held in nearby Cheney, Washington.
