About Cedar Rapids Curling Club
Cedar Rapids Curling Club: Iowa’s First Curling Club
Cedar Rapids Curling Club was founded in 2012 and launched Eastern Iowa’s first curling league, and it calls itself the first curling club in Iowa. The club plays on arena ice at ImOn Ice Arena on Rockford Road SW, and its mission is to build community through the sport, bringing curling and sportsmanship to people regardless of age, physical ability or skill level.
Weekly leagues accept both full teams and individual players, and an instructional league helps new curlers find their feet. Learn to Curl sessions teach sweeping and delivery, while bonspiels, friendlies with other clubs, and private bookings for team building, birthday parties and gatherings round out the calendar.
For a young club, Cedar Rapids has hosted on a national stage. It welcomed the U.S. Curling Arena National Championships in July 2015, and USA Curling chose Cedar Rapids as host city for the 2022 Men’s and Women’s National Championships.
