Curl Mesabi: Eight Sheets of Iron Range Curling in Eveleth

Curl Mesabi is the curling heart of Minnesota’s Iron Range. The club was formed in 1998 through the merger of three small clubs in Eveleth, Gilbert and Virginia, pooling generations of Range curling tradition into a single organization.

Its home is the Range Recreation Civic Center on Hat Trick Avenue in Eveleth, an event center with an eight-sheet dedicated curling facility, one of the largest in the state. Alongside the ice, the building houses a pro shop selling shoes, brooms and club apparel during the November-to-March season, and the Free Guard Zone, a full-service bar with a viewing area overlooking the sheets.

More than 300 members curl here, from juniors to seniors, men and women alike. The season revolves around weekly leagues, including a senior league, along with bonspiels, learn-to-curl programs and corporate curling events. The club is governed by a nine-member board and supported by the Curl Mesabi Foundation.
