About Hayward Curling Club
Hayward Curling Club: Natural-Ice Curling in Wisconsin’s Northwoods
Hayward Curling Club is one of the newest curling clubs in Wisconsin, founded in 2024 in Hayward, the Sawyer County resort town in the state’s Northwoods. The club plays on natural ice with two sheets, an old-school way of curling that ties the season to the northern winter: play runs into March, weather permitting. For the 2026-27 season the club is moving its natural-ice sheets indoors.
The club curls on Monday and Thursday evenings, plus sessions by appointment, and runs a friendly league alongside instruction for newcomers, with all equipment provided. Experienced curlers and first-timers of all ages are welcome on the ice. Hayward Curling Club is a member of the Wisconsin State Curling Association.
